From 7–9 October 2025, the Independent Schools Inspectorate visited LPS Mayfair and LPS Sixth, speaking to staff and students across all three of our pathways: Day, Hybrid and Sixth Form and discovered a Confident, Values-Led school and a community imbued with kindness, purpose and positivity.
LPS Mayfair and Sixth – ISI Inspection Report 2025
The Highest Outcome: ‘All Standards Met’
We are delighted to share that we met all the Independent School Standards under the ISI framework introduced in 2023. A judgement of “standards met” is the highest possible overall outcome, and the inspectors’ narrative comments describe the many strengths they observed across the school.
“The school’s values… are understood well by students.”
ISI, October 2025
Across our pathways, inspectors saw students who are articulate, thoughtful and kind; teachers who know them well; and a culture shaped by collaboration, creativity, courage and compassion.
This result is a strong endorsement of our ethos, our leadership, and the quality of the education we provide. The report recognises who we are as a school and what it means to Learn Like a Londoner.
Learning Like a Londoner
“Learn Like a Londoner” is the shared philosophy that unites every London Park School. It reflects:
- modern, relevant learning
- connected ideas linked to real experience
- opportunities to learn beyond the classroom
- relationships grounded in shared values
- a small-school environment with wide horizons
Inspectors recognised this spirit throughout the school — in lessons, in relationships, in Hybrid, and in the maturity of our Sixth Form.
Calm, Purposeful and Welcoming
Inspectors identified a school where routines are well established, relationships are positive and students learn with purpose.
“Students behave well and understand the importance of respect for all.”
“Students communicate clearly and with confidence.”
“Students engage in their work with determination.”ISI, October 2025
Teaching was described as well planned and responsive to individual needs. Inspectors also noted the warmth between year groups and the calm atmosphere around the school.
A Thoughtful, Well-Structured Hybrid Offer
Our Hybrid stream is now a distinctive part of LPS Mayfair and was praised for its clarity, safety and impact.
“Leaders have put robust procedures in place to ensure that students who learn mainly online are safe.”
“Dedicated online lessons deepen students’ knowledge and understanding.”
“Attendance for hybrid learners is checked rigorously.”ISI, October 2025
Inspectors recognised the careful planning behind Hybrid, the strong training for staff and the way it helps students rebuild confidence and stay connected.
Hybrid remains a powerful pathway for students who benefit from a more flexible way of learning.
Sixth Form: Focused, Individual, Strong Preparation for the Next Steps
At LPS Sixth, inspectors saw determined learners with a clear sense of direction. Careers support was singled out for the structure and personalised guidance it provides.
“Sixth Form students receive individualised and structured support in the careers programme.”
Students spoke confidently about future routes and demonstrated a mature approach to study. The Sixth Form is a place where young people grow as individuals and prepare well for university and life beyond school.
Great Teaching, A Broad Curriculum and Plenty of Support
Inspectors highlighted:
- well-planned lessons
- a broad, coherent curriculum
- clear routines
- helpful, structured feedback
- strong SEND and EAL provision
“Lessons are carefully planned, helping students make good progress.”
“The curriculum is broad, well sequenced and accessible…”
“SEND students are supported well to access the curriculum…”ISI, October 2025
These strengths reflect the consistency and care that shape daily life at LPS.
Wellbeing and Safeguarding
Safeguarding is well led and deeply understood.
“Leaders with responsibility for safeguarding have a deep understanding of contextual risks.”
“Monitoring and filtering of online activity is effective.”
“Staff make safeguarding reports without delay.”ISI, October 2025
Inspectors also recognised our positive behaviour, respectful relationships and strong pastoral care.
LPS Mayfair and Sixth is a school where students feel known, supported and safe.
Leadership and Governance
“Leaders listen carefully to students, staff and parents.”
“Governors maintain effective oversight and meet regularly with students and staff.”ISI, October 2025
The inspection acknowledged clear direction, steady leadership and the shared sense of purpose across the community.
A Single Recommendation
Inspectors made one recommendation:
“Ensure younger students’ views and needs are fully considered in planning careers advice.”
We welcome this and are already enhancing our Years 7–9 programme in response.
What Our Leaders Say
Dr Adrian Rainbow, Head of LPS Mayfair, Hybrid & Sixth
“This report captures what we see every day: students who feel known, teachers who understand them well, and a strong sense of community built on shared values.”
Suzie Longstaff, Managing Director, Dukes Education (London Schools South & Central)
“With this positive ISI report following last year’s Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ at LPS Clapham, every element of the London Park Schools family is now firmly recognised for its quality. Our ‘Learn Like a Londoner’ philosophy is alive across all four pathways: modern, connected learning within warm, human-scale environments. These are small schools with big opportunities, and it is wonderful to see inspectors acknowledge the impact this has on students’ confidence, ambition and wellbeing.”
Moving Forward With Purpose
This ISI report reflects an approach that is:
- confident and inclusive
- innovative and values-led
- small in scale and rich in opportunity
- thriving across all of the Mayfair and Sixth pathways
We are extremely proud of our students, staff and community.
