Admissions

LPS Clapham and LPS Mayfair’s main entry points are Year 7 or Year 9, but we also accept students in other year groups if spaces are available. We don’t tend to  accept applications for Year 11 or Year 13 unless there are compelling reasons – but we do consider each case on an individual basis.

Entry to LPS Hybrid is more ad-hoc as we know that there are many reasons why someone may need to switch to a hybrid model.  We always talk to each student and family individually.  Hybrid students join either LPS Mayfair or LPS Sixth.

All LPS students progress automatically to LPS SIxth – assuming it’s the right place for them.  We also accept students from other schools as well.

Generally, most students join during the below timeframes but are always willing to discuss entry at other times if places are available.

  • At 11+ (Year 7) at LPS Clapham and LPS Mayfair
  • At 13+ (Year 9) at LPS Clapham and LPS Mayfair
  • At 16+ (Year 12) at LPS Sixth

Our Admissions process is simple and straightforward

1. Enquire Online

Learn more about LPS and get in touch with us to kickstart the process.

2. Come and See Us

Arrange a personalised tour or attend an Open Event, Head’s Coffee or Taster Days.

3. Complete an Application Form

Apply online & pay the registration fee of £150.

4. Provide A Recent Report and Digital Data

We’d love to see an example of your creative writing; a recent report, and ideally, some digital data e.g. CAT 4 data.

5. Provide the name of someone who can provide a confidential reference

We set great store by the the personal, confidential reference; after all, your current school should know you and your strengths very well.

6. Attend a Discovery Day

Assuming that all is well, we’ll invite you to a ‘D’ Day.  This is our chance to discover more about you and for you to discover more about us.  These are experiential, problem solving sessions which involve creative thinking, collaboration and fun!  We run these at both LPS Clapham or LPS Mayfair.

Assuming we all believe that we’re a great fit, we’ll make an offer which you will have until March to accept (or two weeks if applying out of the main entry points).

For Sixth Form entry, there’s one extra step:

Let us know your desired A Levels and your GCSEs and either actual or predicted grades, and give us the name of someone from whom we can get a confidential reference. Come for a tour and meet our Director of Sixth Form, Nathan Mountford. Assuming all is well, we’ll make an offer and hope you’ll join us.
