A school as wonderfully diverse as London itself
Just like London itself, LPS Mayfair’s community is wonderfully diverse. British and international students learn side by side, forming friendships that cross cultures and perspectives. We are proud to welcome students, and their families, from a rich spectrum of international backgrounds.
Though families join LPS Mayfair from all over the world, our community is connected, warm and personal. Every student is known as an individual, and every family becomes part of a community that values kindness, respect, and shared experience.
Admissions designed for international families
Joining a new school, particularly when moving to a new country, is an important moment for any family. Our Admissions Team is highly experienced in supporting international applicants and ensures that the process is clear, thoughtful, and welcoming from the very start.
To help us understand your child’s learning journey so far, we ask families to submit their most recent school report, with an English translation if needed. This allows our academic team to make an informed decision and plan appropriate support where helpful.
How places are allocated
Children applying to LPS Mayfair are considered holistically. Places are allocated based on:
- A recent school report
- A confidential reference from your child’s current school
- A taster day at LPS Mayfair and / or an interview with our Head
- An EAL (English as an additional language) assessment when relevant
If it is more convenient for families, interviews and assessments can be carried out online, ensuring accessibility for pupils who may still be overseas or relocating.
Personalised academic support, stretch and challenge
Students join LPS Mayfair from a wide range of educational systems, bringing with them different experiences, strengths and ways of learning. Our personalised approach to teaching allows us to understand each student’s academic journey and adapt our support to help them thrive from the outset.
Whether a student needs time to adjust to a new curriculum or is ready for greater academic stretch and challenge, our teachers respond to them as an individual. The result is an experience that is both supportive and ambitious, helping students develop confidence in their learning while quickly gaining a strong sense of belonging within the school community.
English as an additional language (EAL)
For pupils who are new to English or continuing to build their confidence, we offer a well-structured English as an Additional Language programme.
Every child joining us is assessed individually so we can provide the right level of support from the outset. This may include one-to-one teaching, small-group sessions, or in-class support to help pupils access the curriculum with confidence. Above all, our aim is to help every child feel secure, expressive and happy in their use of English, academically, socially and creatively.
Support for diplomatic families
Our school has extensive experience welcoming and supporting diplomatic families, including those connected to Kuwait, Bahrain, Brunei, Oman and Türkiye. We understand that relocating to London can involve navigating a new education system alongside specific visa and immigration requirements. Our admissions team is experienced in supporting families through this process, including those who may be exempt from standard UK immigration requirements, and works closely with parents to ensure every child enjoys a smooth and positive transition into school life.
Child student visa sponsorship
LPS Mayfair is licensed to sponsor Child Student visas for pupils aged 11 to 18. Any visa application must be made prior to a student turning 18. Families who require visa sponsorship are warmly encouraged to speak with our Admissions Team early in their application.
In keeping with sponsorship guidelines, families must demonstrate that they have the financial means to support the child while living in the UK, as an accompanying parent is not eligible to work during this period. Families will also be required to evidence their child’s care arrangements in line with UKVI guidelines whilst living in the UK.
- LPS Mayfair does not charge for the administration of visas.
- It is expected that sponsored students will complete their course of study, specified as the ‘Course End Date’ in the CAS request form.
- Once a place is accepted, it is not possible to defer the start date, unless there are exceptional circumstances.
- Once we confirm financial capability, and suitable care arrangements, we can issue the Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) required for the visa application.
