As with all LPS students, we are on hand to support the next step on from GCSEs and A Levels.
Hybrid students move on to LPS Sixth for A Levels, a short walk from Victoria station, where they join students from LPS Clapham, LPS Mayfair and other schools.
A Fresh Start with the Reassurance of Familiarity
From Year 10 onwards, students spend time at the Sixth form for taster tessons, careers days and other events in conjunction with their counterparts from LPS Mayfair and LPS Clapham. This helps ensure that the Sixth form is a familiar place and that the transition to Sixth form is smooth and seamless.
A Bespoke Approach to Admissions
As part of the preparation for A Levels, students meet the Director of Sixth Form, Mr Nathan Mountford, to ensure we know their strengths, weaknesses, hopes, and aspirations; we want to know who you are and where you aspire to go. We work closely with each student to help them make the decision that’s right for them.
We want to be sure that they will thrive at this level so we usually ask for a minimum of Grade 6 (7 for maths) in subjects related to the options someone wants to pursue further.
Preparation for Life Beyond Sixth Form
We offer personalised support for university applications, including assistance with crafting strong personal statements and preparing for UCAS and Oxbridge applications as well as universities overseas. We also help students demonstrate their self-study efforts, which universities value highly. Career guidance is also provided to all students and we take advantage of our connections within the Dukes Education family to help students make the decisions that are right for them, working with, for example, Oxbridge Applications, A-List, Lawyer and Medic portal and InvestIn – amongst others.
We also help to support students find relevant and meaningful work experience and other opportunities for leadership and development including helping in local primary schools and mentoring younger students at LPS Mayfair and LPS Clapham.
