Curriculum

At Hybrid @ LPS, our curriculum is designed to allow students a broad range of academic pursuits to stimulate, inspire, stretch and challenge.

We recognise the diversity of learning styles and abilities among our students and believe it’s our responsibility, as educators, to identify and nurture their individual strengths and talents. Our curriculum celebrates this diversity and aims to cultivate a learning environment that complements each student’s unique abilities.

Empowering Students

We adapt lessons and resources to ensure that our curriculum is meeting the needs of all of our students. However, we do not provide 1-1 support – students must be able to access the education in a classroom format, as with our day school.

Our students follow the same curriculum as the day school – which is ambitious and values-driven, leveraging the best practices in digital and online learning to equip every student with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in life. Furthermore, we emphasise not only what students know but also what they can do.

Our curriculum fosters critical thinking and social skills, empowering students to make meaningful connections in their learning journey and prepare for their future endeavours. In addition to our taught curriculum, our students also have access to additional clubs, trips and our enrichment programme too.

We understand that families choose online education at Hybrid @ LPS for various reasons, and thus, we offer full flexibility in academic curriculum options at each key stage. For Hybrid @ LPS students, including those transitioning from mainstream schooling or facing challenges, flexibility is fundamental. Our lessons are delivered in a secure online environment via Microsoft Teams and students are enabled to navigate the digital world with confidence.

Laptops for Learning

It’s really important that each student has a device that is fully compatible with the needs of our curriculum – and on which we can install our safeguarding software. This is why we ask that new students buy our recommended laptop from our own supplier. The equipment is yours, but it is a school tool and whilst a student is with us, we install software to help keep a student safe. Laptops are c. £800 and must be bought and brought into school for configuration prior to starting at the school.
