We are thrilled to launch Lead Like a Londoner, a termly leadership and personal development programme for all Year 12 and 13 students. This innovative programme draws inspiration from the IB philosophy of CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) and Theory of Knowledge, and will incorporate elements of the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) to get our students future-ready. Each term, students will explore leadership through Creativity, Compassion, Courage, and Collaboration, guided by the examples of prominent London leaders. The programme structure is as follows:
Year 12:
- Term 1: Transition and Leadership – Focus on academic writing, research, and teaching, culminating in peer-led workshops for younger students.
- Term 2: Building Compassionate Leaders – Students volunteer in care homes, mentor younger students, or lead local service initiatives.
- Term 3: Embracing Global Leadership – Students complete capstone projects on global issues, presented through art, digital media, or entrepreneurship.
Year 13:
- Term 1: Leadership Through Art – Involves gallery visits and leading community creative projects, culminating in a public exhibition.
- Term 2: Leadership in Practice – Students manage real-world projects like graduation planning, pupil voice campaigns, or fundraising events.
This structured but flexible programme not only builds confidence, independence, and project management skills, but also enables students to develop their personal portfolios for university and future employment. We’re excited to embed this into the wider Sixth Form offer from September.
