Flexi-Sixth

Flexible learning choices for all

At LPS Sixth we offer a flexible structure. We understand that the world of work and learning is changing.  Technology has enabled us to be more flexible in how we access information and communicate with each other and this has opened up new opportunities in how we teach and learn.

We know that many students enjoy the greater independence and freedom that comes from being at LPS Sixth and like the opportunity to manage both independent study and in-person lessons in one place, but we also know that some also prefer the option to have a more mixed approach. LPS Sixth offers students flexbility.

Three A Levels in school OR two A Levels in school and one on-line

Flexi-Sixth offers students choice and the opportunity to access our full programme in a way that suits them.

Whilst we expect and know that most of our students will have all their subjects in person, they also have the option of taking one A Level subject on-line and two in school.

For some, this will mean coming into the Sixth form for all lessons and taking full advantage of our London Leaders programme.  For others, this will mean taking two subjects in person and one on-line

Not all subjects are suitable for on-line learning at A Level; sciences and the creative subjects for example, however some humanities subjects may be.  Please discuss this with the Director of Sixth Form.

Please note that flexibility is the key word here and that our Flexi-Sixth model does not mean a two-tier service.  Fees are the same irrespective of whether a student chooses to access their third subject on-line.

How does this differ from Hybrid learning?

Unlike the Hybrid model at LPS Mayfair, A Levels need a different approach.  Some subjects are more suitable than others as an online option so not all subjects will be offered under the flexible online model. Those subjects that have a more practical aspect to them – e.g. Art, DT, Science, Drama, PE will not be offered as online options.  Please discuss your options with with the Director of Sixth Form.

Which is right for me?

We don’t assume that just because someone has come from one style of learning that this is what they should do forever.  We start with what is right for each student, right now. For many, even if they have worked online or in a hybrid model previously, the smaller size and warmth of our Sixth form community provides a perfect way back into full-time, in-person education.

Please contact the Director of Sixth Form, Nathan Mountford to discuss what is right for you.
